Other Fees and Billing Information
- All residential students, student-athletes, international students, and students in certain programs (including nursing) are required to provide proof of health insurance. Students who cannot provide proof must enroll in an insurance policy through USM. The premium rate for 2024-25 was $2,097. The rate for 2025-26 will be determined in summer 2025.
- All athletes will be charged $550 annually for secondary athletic insurance and travel fees.
- Unless you opt out, you will have a $350 charge each semester to fund your textbook voucher for USM鈥檚 online bookstore. Unspent funds will be refunded to you.
- A $100 enrollment deposit is required for new incoming students. $100 for traditional and accelerated nursing. The deposit is nonrefundable.
- A $200 housing deposit is required for all new students living on campus. The deposit is nonrefundable.
- Billing is done by semester. Payment plans are available.
- All tuition & fee amounts are subject to change. Other fees, including course fees, may apply based upon your residency status and class schedule.

Maria Hall
Maria Hall is open to all students on its first through fifth floors. High-speed internet
is standard in our suite-style rooms. Rooms are double-occupancy with a bathroom between
every two rooms. All rooms have twin beds, desks, chairs, dressers, and large closets.
Single and private rooms are also available in Maria for sophomores and second-semester
freshmen, if space allows.
Other Maria Amenities
- A hall laundry room located in the basement level of the building
- Common-area kitchens on the first and second floors
- Lounges with TVs and games, including pool, foosball, and ping pong
- Study lounge
Berkel Hall
Berkel is a suite-style residence hall鈥攁nd of our two on campus, it鈥檚 the newest. High-speed internet is standard in the two-bedroom and four-bedroom suite rooms, along with twin XL bed, desks, chairs, dressers, and large closets. There is a laundry room on each floor and a lounge for hangout on the first floor, too. Berkel is open to freshmen through seniors.
Typical Setup:

- 2 vanities with double sinks
- Individually controlled heating and air conditioning
