Children's/Adult swim classes begin Aug. 27
(Leavenworth, Kan.)—The ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ is offering American Red Cross swim lessons for children ages 4 and up, as well as adult lessons. The evening classes will be held every Tuesday and Thursday starting at 6:15 p.m. beginning Aug. 27 in Berchman Hall's indoor heated pool on the USM main campus at 4100 South 4th Street in Leavenworth. Classes run for 4 weeks. The cost is $50 for a four-week session. Enrollment is ongoing. Go to to view schedules or to print registration forms.
USM also offers ongoing morning and evening aqua-fitness classes for adults in Berchman Hall's indoor heated pool. Classes are designed to benefit all fitness levels, with exercises that can be modified to meet specific needs. A hydraulic chair lift is available for those who have difficulty with ladders. No swimming skills are required.
The cost is $45 for a six-week session, or you may come as your schedule allows for a $5 per class fee. New sessions begin August 26 and 27.
