What Makes USM Different?
USM鈥檚 expert faculty offer 1-on-1 mentoring and advanced insights into the behavioral sciences. You鈥檒l have the opportunity to train alongside licensed professional counselors and therapists at premier mental health providers that specialize in adults, children, private practice, and hospital services, including:
- Clinical Associates, P.A.
- The University of Kansas Hospital 鈥 Marillac Campus
- KVC Health Systems
- Johnson County Mental Health Center
- Wyandot Center for Community Behavioral Health
- Truman Medical Center
- KidsTLC
鈥淢any schools leave it to the students and have no formal list of approved practicum sites. USM looks out for the quality of education 鈥 not just signing a student up and letting them be on their own.
Saint Mary is also one of the few folks who talk with their students about licensing issues in both states. Most students have to rely on their own research for insight.
We are proud to be affiliated with USM鈥檚 program.鈥
