Keynote: Bringing Joy Back to the Learning Community

Our primary goal is to explore how we can reinstate joy in our learning communities, which can increase staff retention. As leaders, we want to build a foundation that allows teachers to increase like-mindedness and consistency so they can live their WHY as a community. In order to do this, we must develop the opportunity to nurture adults while problem solving. What if we change the primary focus to adults so that adults are cared for, therefore, they can care for our students more consistently, which benefits the entire school community.

Marty HuittKeynote speaker: Marty Huitt, M.S. Ed. BIST Director, Cornerstones of Care

Marty holds a BSE in Physical Education, a certificate in behavior disorders, and a Master's in Administration/School Leadership. She has been on the BIST Team since 1997 and has been the director since 2003. During her tenure as a leader, she has had the opportunity to support leaders, schools, and systems in becoming more consistent and collaborative in their care for children.

Marty鈥檚 present goal is to increase school and staff capacity in the support of children from chaos and trauma. This includes coaching leaders in their vision to create a stronger, philosophical belief system that enhances like-minded thinking and produces transformational change for children who struggle.

Marty鈥檚 dynamic presentation style and sense of humor is entertaining, yet impactful.
