What have you been up to since graduating from Saint Mary?
I graduated in 2012 from USM鈥檚 undergraduate program then attended USM鈥檚 Doctor of Physical Therapy program until 2016. After graduation, I went directly into inpatient neurology and treated in that setting for six years. I transitioned out of the clinical setting, in 2021, to take a role in sales and marketing management.  More recently, I have found a love for complex rehab technology (CRT) and acquired my Assistive Technology Professional (ATP). I get to use my clinical experience, as a therapist, and help individuals obtain wheelchairs.

What is your current job or role, and what do you enjoy most about it?
I am currently an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP). I meet with an interdisciplinary team to determine what type of wheelchair and/or adaptive equipment an individual may need. I get to educate on what equipment is on the market and provide expertise.

How did your time at Saint Mary prepare you for your career?
I believe the professors at Saint Mary played an integral part in my success in 鈥渁dulthood.鈥 They were more than educators. They were also mentors. I was taught how to be punctual, responsible, accountable, and thorough. I think the professors knowing who you are is a huge part of that.

What is a memorable experience you had during your time at Saint Mary?
There were off-campus dance parties in downtown Leavenworth. All the student body would attend, and it was a great time to see friends and classmates outside of school. Basketball and football games were my favorites on-campus memories. The student section would always bring the energy!

Have you stayed in touch with any of your professors or classmates?
Yes, my professor of biology Dr. Mackintosh and my professor of genetics Dr. Cozine. I also stay in touch with several graduate school professors. I am grateful I attended a smaller university. I was more than a number, and the professor鈥檚 were a huge part of that.

What advice would you give to current students or recent graduates?
Make sure your career path includes aspects that you are passionate about, because if you are choosing your path based on income potential you may find happiness is harder to reach.

Are there any achievements or milestones you would like to share with the Saint Mary community?
I have found immense success in my career, but my biggest achievement is raising three strong little girls.

How do you stay connected with the Saint Mary alumni network?
I receive emails and mailers from the university.

What hobbies or interests are you currently pursuing?
I am currently training for my first half-marathon! I also enjoy playing tennis and coaching my daughters as they try new sports.

Do you have any favorite Saint Mary traditions that you still cherish?
Not a specific tradition, but I will always cherish the professors at Saint Mary. They were all nurturing and committed to providing a personalized approach to education.
