Cultures and societies around the world are changing every day. As a global studies major at the ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ, you will analyze international relations to gain a complete understanding of the world, how to make it better, and understand the process of change.
You will study politics, history, geography, foreign languages and cultures, economics, international business, biology, and anthropology—and can even combine your global studies degree with political science or history to maximize career marketability
In USM’s program, you’ll have the opportunity to the develop essentials skills to enter the workforce in a variety of fields, or make the jump to any number of professional graduate degree programs nationwide by exploring:
- Contemporary world events
- The impact of global issues, including expanding communication and transportation networks, energy and food resources, global warming, immigration, income disparity, international crime, debt and monetary policy, and terrorism and war
- Ethical and cultural issues that shape the global landscape
… to just name a few.

At USM, you’ll get the one-on-one attention in the classroom that will prepare you to excel in a variety of careers. When you graduate, your career path is up to you. Do you choose to immediately enter the workforce or continue on with additional education at the master’s level?
